Another definition of enlightement described by a Yoga master from India who lives or was Zurich Switzerland

Last Updated on December 31, 2023 by pg@petergamma.org

We have read many years ago in an article which was if we remember correctly in the magazine of the «Tages Anzeiger» Zurich an interview with a Yoga master from India.

He was asked about the definition of enlightement. The yoga master answered that in India the Guru decides if a student is enlightened.

The yoga teacher from India who lives or was in Zurich defined if we remember correclty enlightement as being able to become happy independently from the outer world.

Happiness is defined differently by different people.

And enlightement is defined differently by different people.

But we could describe this process in other words, and that is to increase the gamma wave activity in the left pre-frontal cortex of the brain independently of the outer world.

Gamma wave acitity is only one parameters of many which are relevant. More parameters of this phenomenon are described in the following paper about gamma wave acitivity in the brain of the group of Dr. Richard R. Davidson:

More parameters can be found in papers which use fMRI about this topics. Some of those are shortly reviewed by Matthieu Ricard on YouTube. You can find the video in our journal. But we suppose it can also be found in reviews of Richard Davidson which we haven’t studied in detail yet.
