1500. The last scientific paper about smartwatches which is worth mentioning for us personally was published in 2019

2019 was the year the Polar OH 1 has been released & the most interesting papers about smartwatches where published we know.

DC reviewed the Polar OH1 on March 20, 2019:

A PLOS ONE paper about the Polar OH has been published in May 23, 2019:

And the other papers which where interesting for us personally can be found on this page:

And since 2019 we do not know of a new paper which would be worth mentioning.

Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org

  • started meditating with an old old Polar watch and an old, old Polar chest strap, so old that he does not remembers their model names.
  • When the Garmin 235 was released, which was reviewed on 25.11.2015 by DC Rainmaker:

https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/11/garmin-fr230-fr235-review.html

  • He used this device, and started soon after that questioning in the Garmin Forum about it.
  • Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org joined THIS IS ANT on 10. November 2018
  • This can be seen on post Nr 15 in the following link, hes has written 234 posts there until he was locked out of THIS IS ANT for reasons he does not know. On 3 December 2019 Peter Gamma posted in the THIS IS ANT forum:

  • Over 4 years ago, in 2019 Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org started questioning in the Garmin Forum:

  • Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org asked a lot of questions about smartwatch accuracy in the web over many years.

An the YouTube channel of Rob ter Horst “The Quantified Scientist” was founded in Mar 2020 and keeps going on:

https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-ter-horst-90756a4a/?originalSubdomain=at

  • Rob ter Horst made many accuracy tests about smartwatches, and Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org as commented on it on his personal website.

Shortly after Rob ter Horsts review about the Polar H10 Scientific Review: Best for Heart Rate (99.6% Accurate), date of publications on YouTube 01.07.2022, one year ago:

Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org wrote a review about smartwatch accuracy, which was very negative:

And after this review paper we found hardly any new scientific papers about smartwatch accuracy which would be worth mentioning.
