- I use Mullvad VPN. When I select Brussels as my location, I get Dutch ads on YouTube videos. This improves my situation somewhat. The ads are then no longer as localized and sneaky as I’ve experienced before.
- But even this advertisement in Dutch seems to be tailored to me. It featured faces that looked familiar.
- The result was that if I selected Brussels as my location with Mullvad, I received advertisements in Dutch; if I watched YouTube videos, for example, the advertisements were in Dutch.
- Brussels is located in the Kingdom of Belgium, and it is the capital of Belgium. And the result was that when I selected Brussels with Mullvad, cars with Belgian license plates suddenly appeared near my home:

- This has happened several times. Could someone other than the Police be behind it? Does someone other than the Police have the ability to hack Mullvad?
- The Police, who identified me when I used Mullvad, namely Brussels in Belgium in my case. And the Police communicated to me that they had found this out?
- This happened several times with cars from Belgium that were parked near my home. But it didn’t happen regularly, even though I regularly selected Mullvad with Brussels as my location for an extended period.
- I paid Mullvad in cash, using banknotes which Mullvad sent to Sweden, along with a code that I had to enter on my computer at Mullvad’s website. These envelopes I sent to Mullvad contained no information about my identity or my location.
- There was no information about my identity in the envelope I used to send the banknotes to Sweden. The only thing that connected me to Mullvad was a numerical code that I had to enter at Mullvad’s office.
- I then sent this code to Mullvad. Therefore, Mullvad in Sweden has no information about my identity. The police must have determined my location and identity in some other way than Mullvad providing them with my address.
The only thing I can do now is to file a criminal complaint at the Zurich City Police that someone is snooping on my internet and makes me aware of it. But that’s a lot of work and takes a lot of time.
And I’m not a criminal. I have a clean record. I know the laws and I stick to those.
