We where asking here about:
«Meditation instructions of a uncontroversial spiritual teacher which can be used for scientific studies»
and here is part I of the question:
But self-experienced, «enlighened» and controversial spiritual teacher Osho said in the following video at the beginning:
«And there is no need to teach all kind of meditation.
Just one method I can choose which can be the simplest easiest and applicable to all.
And just that one method can be spread all over the world.
It is … witnessing the breath meditation.
It is a very simple method.
- Richard R. Davidson has choosen three different meditation practices in his PNAS paper:
https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.0407401101
2. Arnaud Delorme and the Meditation Research Institute in India compared the effectiveness of three different meditation practices on gamma waves (link in our journal).
3. And we suggested to take the books «Happiness, «Meditation», and «Brain Research and Meditation» from Matthieu Ricard and do a solitary retreat for 13 years.
Are all of these different meditation practices necessary? According to Osho, no, and we suppose self-exerienced meditators can confirm this with their own experience.
Breath meditation, one method is enough, whatever method does not matter, it can also be a non breath meditation. This is our hypothesis which we share with Osho.
And it is also not necessary to publish the result in the Journal «Nature». It can also be the journal «Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise» or another journal cardiologists from the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, Arnaud Delorme, Richard Davidsons group, Antoine Lutz and further meditation researcher publish their papers in. It only needs to be a journal which is little controversial and peer-reviewed by reviewers which are little controversial. Since which meditation researchers have a grant for research to publish papers in the journal «Nature».
