After many years of frustration with Raspberry Pi during the Raspberry Pi shortage:
The Raspberry Pi 4 went up to about 200 – 300 USD used on eBay. A price this SBC is not worth it. This can happen again. We found an alternative which is worth testing for us personally, and that is the Orange Pi 5:

Single board computers are getting complicated. But for non soft- and hardware developers like us, the Orange Pi 5 is a good alternative to test as a Rasbperry Pi alternative.
