Since Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org asked in the EEVBLOG for affordable alternatives to products from www.openbci.com four years ago:
New products where offered with the ADS1299 chip for Texas Instruments such as:
- OpenBCI made in China
- HackEEG was available, but only for a short time.
- A temporary offer for PiEEG from Crowd Supply was available.
- And a new offer for PiEEG is announced now from Elecrow
- But will it ever come, and if so for how long, and at a stable price?
- And then we have as the latest high-light the RP2040 with ADS1299
- It was presented on YouTube on the 2.11.2023 by YouTube video maker Aditya Mukherjee from India
- This ADS1299 board is not on the market at all and eventually never will be.
- Does someone try to force us to buy products from www.openbci.com
- Or to buy special products for a special price from someone?
- OpenBCI is sold as a low-cost high-quality products.
- But does www.openbci.com optimize for low-cost high-quality?
- Not at all.
- But Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org does.
- And does someone again and again try to maximize profit from him?
Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org experienced in recent years stock market speculation and scalping especially with
- EEG caps sold on Aliexpress
- the LattePanda Delta
DF Robot increased the price for the LattePanda Delta especially for Peter at Digitec Switzerland for 150 USD for a single board computer which costs 300, which is inacceptable.
Similar phenomena have made us retreat from products such as the Rasberry Pi 5. Raspberry Pi expert Jeff Geerling explains in the following video about these phenomena with Raspberry products. This makes us expect the worst for Raspberry Pi products in the future:
And if this repeats for products which are based on the ADS1299 chip from Texas Instruments, we expect the worst for these products either.
- And phenomena like these let’s us look for alternatives as soon as possible to products such as the ADS1299 chip from Texas Instruments
- TI has a monopoly for this chip which was not cloned to the present day.
- And these alternatives to this chip are there.
It only needs time to digest the instructions and to learn about those.
But the advantage is not to depend on a monopolist like Texas Instruments and www.openbci.com. And there are clearly signs there that there is stock market and speculations with products which are based on the DS1299 chip from Texas Instruments. And which people who optimize for low-cost high-quality does want to depend on a chip which undergoes stock market speculations and scalping? Is there someone who is not looking for an alternative to such products as soon as possible if such things happen again and again?
So is OpenBCI selling out? We do not know of any affordable alternative to products from www.openbci.com, which is used by someone in a way that that it is more than a demo. So is the goal of all of these products which where released in recent years to get rid of every competitor product to products from www.openbci.com? If so, should we not look for alternatives to products which are based on the ADS1299 chip from Texas Instruments as soon as possible, as for instance these described here?:

According to the little experience of Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org, many of the products listed here are still full of issues which need to be resolved. If you do stock market speculation and sculping with those, you will loose Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org as a buyer of these products and as a reviewer. Is this not risky? Will you not loose a majority of your costumers as well?
And is it not so, that society in general does not accept stock market speculation and scalping with products as those which are listed here? And will you not be politically incapable of finding a majority of the voters if you do stock market speculation and sculping with these products?
And as a consequence will you not be condemned and punished by a political referendum soon? Especially if you do this to a Swiss, since are not majority of Swiss against stock market speculations and sculping with people on a budget? And people in Switzerland are known for a lot of political referendums, since we have direct democracy in this country.
And Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org will fight up to the European Court of Human Rights against people who do stock market speculation and sculping with the products which are mentioned on www.petergamma.org. And if they do not have yet the legal basis there to do so, he will fight for it.
