OpenBCI made in China has issues – is it worth to repair those?

Last Updated on February 26, 2024 by pg@petergamma.org

We reported about these issues here:

According to the view of Peter Gamma it is worth to try to repair those in these cases:

  • If we are a EEG device builders at the level of A.J. Keller who has built his own device Neurosity upon OpenBCI Cyton yes.
  • If we are a device builders at the level of Connor Russomano who has built the OpenBCI Galea, also yes.
  • if we want to test if we are able to build our own EEG devices based on components which are available on eBay and Aliexpress, we think it is worth testing.

We find affordable OpenBCI made in China products on eBay and Aliexpress, and we can test if we manage to build our low-cost high-quality EEG device from those products by ourselves, without support from www.openbci.com.
