We still miss a foot pod from Stryd for practicing walking meditation with MQTT support.
In the equipement of our laboratory of the institute, we have three Stryd foot pods. Unfortunately, they all have dead batteries.
In the Stryd forum, there are user reports, how to replace the battery:
kaz911 on July 2019 in the Stryd forum:
«I have changed batteries in my original white-top Stryd’s. It is not easy but doable and requires some gentle work with a Stanley knife and some soldering skills. And then some good epoxy plastic glue. Replacement batteries can be found on eBay. Type is dependent on the model I think. The battery has a number on it – which is basically a tiny 3.7v battery – 70mA i think – but there is a part number on the battery. Part of the part number is the size – and that is the most important part.
My brother is now using my old “fixed” Stryd and so far no issues. I have instructed him to NEVER leave Stryd on charger post LED goes out – and only charge every 2-3 weeks – and never let it die completely.»
If Stryd offers a Stryd foot pod with MQTT or Home Assitant support, whe eventually would consider buying new ones.
