How can we trust in the scientists Rob ter Horst & Ildar Rakhmatulin after what they did to us?

Last Updated on February 13, 2024 by pg@petergamma.org

About a year ago, we asked Rob ter Horst, why he does not use for instance a g.tec multi-purpose ECG device which costs about 50 000 USD as a reference device to test his smartwaches. But shortly after that Rob ter Horst published this video:

Where Rob wanted to sell us a Polar H10 chest for 90 USD as a reference device instead. The consequences of this was that we wrote this review about this topic:

And we have let go of Rob ter Horst’s smartwatches and his Polar H10 chest strap, and decided for 3 channel ECG devices for our application.

And now we make a similar experience with Ildar Rakhmatulin as we made with Rob ter Horst. Since several years we are looking for low-cost high-quality EEG devices. Then Ildar released PiEEG in November 2023 with 4 channels:

And 8 channels where announced for mid 2024. Whe where happy about this. We thought this is an architecture which is much more superior than OpenBCI modules. Since a combination of the ADS1299 EEG chip with a Raspberry Pi is the simpler architecture than the one of OpenBCI. We thought that users would eventually migrate from www.OpenBCI.com to PiEEG. But only if availablity is guarantied and prices are stable.

But shortly after PiEEG 4 channels has been released, it is not available anymore:

What is wrong with PiEEG? Who can trust in such a product? How can we trust in the scientist Ildar Rakhmatulin after what he has done to us?

For those wo do not trust in Ildar’s PiEEG as well, we suggest to build such a device:

And use this architecture instead:

Our trust in the scientist Rob ter Horst is gone, since he wanted us to sell the Polar H10 as the best device to measure heart rate. But we now use 3 channel ECG devices instead. And our trust is gone in the scientist Ildar Rakhmatulin who developed PiEEG, if it is not available anymore shortly after it has been released. Ildar, the scientist who also has developed Raspberry Pi’s to kill mosquitoes by laser. What goals does Ildar have? To sell PiEEG as a toy for children to Franz Carl Weber, instead of selling it to us? If this is his goal, he is on the right path with what he does.

But for those wo have lost the trust in these scientists as well, the devices we mention here on this page are the alternatives to the devices sold by the scientists Rob ter Horst and Ildar Rakhmatulin, scientists in which we have lost our trust.
