From whom can we learn how to attain our fullest enlightement in this life – from Richard Davidson, Matthieu Ricard, Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche – let us learn it from Milarepa

We do not know that Richard Davidson, Matthieu Ricard or Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche are spiritual teachers who teach us how we can learn how to attain our fullest enlightement in this life, which basically means to know what are the causes of mental suffering and how can we eliminate it, as it is described here from Peter Gamma on www.petergamma.org:

Was Matthieu Ricard PhD. abused by his father Jean-François Revel to become a best-selling author by translating Milarepas’ teachings into French, which where popular before Matthieu Ricard became popular through these texts?

Matthieu Ricard PhD. was the son of French philosopherJean-François Revel and came most probably from a rich family who supported him. To Matthieu Ricard’s wish that he wanted to go to a monastry after his PhD. his father answered: «What a waste». But Matthieu Ricard went to a monastry in the Himalaya’s all the same, most probably financed by his familiy.

But then later on a journalist wanted to started writing a book with Jean-François Revel and Matthieu Ricard. Was it the father Jean-François Revel who decided for Matthieur Ricard? Jean-François Revel answered to the journalist who wanted to write this book: «I cannot reject this». To write a book with a journalist, Jean-François Revel and Matthieu Ricard was the decision of Jean-François Revel and not of Matthieu Ricard. Is this because of the one who had the money decided?

Later on, Matthieu Ricard wrote best-selling books about Tibetan Buddhism, and has been critizised for writing basically nothing new. Matthieu Ricard still said in interviews he did not regret what he did.

But all the same for Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org, people who write about their own personal experiences as self-experienced meditators out of wealthy families such as long-term meditator Milarepa are more interesting than Matthieu Ricard’s biography, a book which Peter Gamma hasn’t read either.

On the contrast the story of Milarepa, here in the words of the enlighened Guru from India Sadhuru:

Is very interesting also for Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org. Milarepa received a teaching from Marpa’s Guru who lived somewhere in the border of Nepal and Bihar. And this teaching of the Indian Guru was:

The whole teaching how to attain our fullest enlightement in this life

Really serious meditators and scientists, go back to the orginal texts of Milarepa, instead of using Matthieu Ricards’ books, which are partly translations of texts of Milarepa and other Tibetan spiritual authors and teachers.

As Sadhguruu says in the above video: many things which have been done in the last 300 – 400 years in the Tibetan culture are based on the teachings of Milarepa, and not based on the teachings of Matthieu Ricard PhD.
