Evan L. Matthews, PhD.: ECG Electrode Prep and Placement for Exercice Science

Dr. Evan L. Matthews. Dr. Matthews is an associate professor of Exercise Science at Montclair State University.

According to this video, Dr. Matthews uses this setup for treadmill, walking and running activities.

Is his setup less accurate than a Polar H10 chest strap? According to a paper from the Swiss Federal Institute of Sports Magglingen:

Rahel Gilgen-Ammann, Theresa Schweizer, Thomas Wyss, Eur J Appl Physiol. 2019 Jul;119(7):1525-1532.,

RR interval signal quality of a heart rate monitor and an ECG Holter at rest and during exercise

an ECG Holter device (without ECG motion artifact removal) is less accurate than a Polar H10 chest strap.

But is a Polar H10 chest strap also more accurate than this ECG setup? And how is the difference, when ECG motion artifact removal algorithms are applied to Holter ECG devices?

To remove motion artefracts from noisy PPG or ECG signals, HeartPy can be used, as far as whe know. The paper about HeartPy: A novel heart rate algorithm for the analysis of noisy signals was published on October 2019:
