Bitalino boards only have 8 to 10 bit resolution. For research applications, the biosignalsplux Solo can be used:

the biosignalsplux Solo can be used with OpenSignals (r)evolution Software:

https://biosignalsplux.com/products/software/opensignals.html

and as fas as I know also with the Matlab Bitalino Toolbox:

the Matlab Bitalino Toolbox eventually runs also in Octave. But to use the Matlab Bitalino Toolbox, you need a Matlab licence. Contact Bitalino to ask, whether it is possible to get the Matlab Bitalino Toolbox independently from Matlab.

Bitalino also offers custom software:

Biosignalsplux has a support forum:

Alternative: Scott Harden Sound Card ECG:

Scott Hardens Sound Card ECG requires a bit soldering, but is very basic and very affordable. Sound Cards also have 16 bit resolution (research grade). Dr. Scott Harden, PhD. supports his device on his Youtube channel. Scott Hardens Sound Card ECG is also validated scientifically.

9.3.22 19:48

Disadvantage of Scott Harden s device: it needs a PC sound card, or another device with a sound card, for instance a Linux phone or a Rasperri PI with a sound card. There is for no Android app. Bitalino or Physioplus (?) has an Android App as well as a PC application.
