A Raspberry Pi speed sensor which is connected to Zwift does not make sense to us personally since we are looking for a speed sensor to make our own calculations. We wrote this as an issue to the Raspberry Pi forum:

Another option would be a Raspberry Pi speed sensor which is connected to Home Assistant. Then we could use the treadmill speed together with the Apple watch which is already connected to Home Assistant as our data analysis platform. Another option would be a Orange Pi treadmill speed sensor with Python or Home Assistant.
