Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche

teaches in the following video basically:

Buddha has taught 84 000 teachings,
but to put that into very simple worlds,
is to have a good heart,
and what does it mean to have a good heart is,
to have the intention to free all beings
from physical and mental suffering.
And this is summarized the 84 000 teachings into simple words.

Osho

taught basically that there is not need to learn the 84 000 teachings of Buddha. Just one method we can choose, which can be the simplest easiest and which everybody can learn. And just that one method can be spread all over the world. And that is widnessing the breath:

Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org

  • says, there is no need to choose Osho as a Guru, who said he was a Guru for the rich.
  • And he would like to thank the Dalai Lama the 14th to challenge neuroscientist Richard Davidson to scientifically study long-term Tibetan Buddhist meditation practitioners with brain scanners.
  • Richard R. Davidson has published the results of this scientific study 20 years ago in PNAS:

Long-term meditators self-induce high-amplitude gamma synchrony during mental practice

https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.0407401101

  • This scientific study which was published in PNAS in 2004 changed the life of Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org completely.
  • He learned after that for instance from Matthieu Ricard, Buddhist monk with a PhD. in Cellular Genetics, how to get a healthy mind in a way his psychiatrist did not teach him to this date.
  • Three books where for Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org enough to learn many things he needed to learn about secular meditation, and these books where:
  • Happiness
  • Meditation
  • Brain Research and Meditation by Matthieu Ricard and Wolf Singer
