Will OpenBCI be dead in 4 years from now & be replaced by products based on TGAM EEG & InfluxDB?

Last Updated on April 15, 2024 by pg@petergamma.org

Since Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org asked in the EEVBLOG for affordable alternatives to products from www.openbci.com four years ago:

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/how-to-solve-the-ti-ads1299-eeg-demo-kit-is-not-save-for-humans-problem

New products where offered with the ADS1299 chip for Texas Instruments such as:

  • OpenBCI made in China
  • HackEEG was available, but only for a short time.
  • A temporary offer for PiEEG from Crowd Supply was available.
  • And a new offer for PiEEG is announced now from Elecrow.
  • But will it ever come, and if so for how long, and at a stable price?

And are these products of a better quality than VEDIA products which offers best prices for low-quality products such as the cheek massager from VEDIA:

VEDIA Switzerland is 50 years old

50 years before VEDIA Switzerland made a lot of children happy who could only afford to buy products from VEDIA.

OpenBCI is 10 years old now

  • OpenBCI was created by Joel Murphy and Conor Russomanno in late 2013:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenBCI

And did OpenBCI not make also children happy in the United States 8 years ago?

  • But what has become out of OpenBCI 10 years after ist started?

Does OpenBCI not offer weird devices in the year 2024?:

Is this device better than the cheek massager sold by Vedia Switzerland?

  • We have now an alternative from Switzerland to OpenBCI products without the ADS1299 EEG chip from Texas Instruments:
  • Our instruction might be more difficult to build than products from www.openbci.com.
  • But Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org stands now where he was when he became interested in OpenBCI more than four years ago.
  • Because in 2024 he starts loosing his interest in OpenBCI products.
  • And he starts studying new instructions with TGAM modules and InfluxDB.

Will OpenBCI be an outdated concept in four years from now?

In four years from now, will Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org, as well as his friends at the top university level still be interested in OpenBCI and products which are based on the ADS1299 from Texas Instruments? What is your opinon about this topic? Write it in the comments below.
