Quote from William Croft in the OpenBCI forum:

Can we believe William Crofts statements? Or is it the same as with the coming back of the OpenBCI WIFI shield, which first was announced and then pulled back as depricted?

The MRIS thinks that next generation BCI board level products can already be found in the journal of the MRIS, components only need to be tested, as for instance the issue-free WIFI shield which is sold on Ebay, and the components connected to contemporary software as for instance MNE-Python, Home Assistant, InfluxDB and Grafana.

A major next generation BCI board level products will be single electronics components connected to InfluxDB as we also already have discussed it in our journal.
