Why to scientists publish demos on YouTube and on their WordPress sites?

We found such examples from Arnaud Delorme about Muse LSL and Mind Monitor, Alexandre Barchant about Muse 2 LSL, Irene Vigué-Guix about OpenBCI LSL, Scott Harden about Sound Card ECG, ‪Talha Iqbal‬ and Peter Charlton about R-R peaks, respiratory rate, PPG sensors. Such reviews can also be found in the journal of the MEDITATION RESEARCH INSTITUTE SWITZERLAND (MRIS) edited by PETER GAMMA, Physiologist and Director of the MEDITATION RESEARCH INSTITUTE SWITZERLAND (MRIS)

Are these projects that they have given up? Are these papers which where rejected by reviewers, and the reason for the rejection and the draw back from the project is not declared? Are these project taken over from other authors, but they do not give any references? Are these projects which where no worth the hard work to publish it in a peer-reviewed scientific journal? Reviews which where used for to teach students? Sometimes we find talks they gave and they recorded those to publishe them on YouTube. Are these personal projects for fun and in their spare time over the weekend? In our case we do it to publish things in our journal which is a private project on Peter Gammas personal website, and the reason to publish this is that we miss that these things are not published somewhere.
