- Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org came recently to the conclusion, that the Pinephone is good now, after he reviewed it for several years.
- And it can now in principle do anything I need.
- But now the Pinephone keyboard is not available anymore in the Pine64 store and also not in the EU store.
- And there is a discussion about it which I can t follow.
- Especially why it was pulled from the market.
- Posters in the Pine64 forum promote a Pinephone 2 with new specifications:
https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=19200&pid=122551#pid122551
- But not Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org.
- Peter Gamma promotes a Pinephone 1 (Pro) which works and is attractive for costumers an is reliable available on the market.
- And he is against a new Pinhephone 2 development from Pine64 until this problem is solved.
- Not to offers components such as the Pinephone keyboard which is not perfect but usable, to be able to develop a Pinephone 2?
- Not with Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org.
- He is against a Pinephone 2 from Pine64, if they are not even capable of resolving the issues of the Pinephone 1 had after many years, and create new such as not to offer the Pinephone keyboard agin.
- Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org has resolved the issues it had from him personally.
- He has published those on www.petergamma.org.
- And he concluded that it is now usable for him personally in principle.
- And he is fed up to wait for a Pinephone 2 and test it, to find out that it is bad so that the Pine 64 developers can develop the Pinephone 3.
- Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org promotes a Pinephone 2 which is based on the Raspberry Pi zero w2 instead:
- And to exploit the Rasbperry Pi zero 2 w to it’s peak.
- We can overclock the Raspberry Pi zero 2 w to over 2000 mHz.
- We can tweak it with ZRam.
- And even DietPy is on option for Peter to use it to save memory.
- We now know how many drives can be attached to the Raspberry Pi zero 2 w from leepspvideo:
- And many more things about the Raspberry Pi zero w and how it can be tweaked.
- We have now the Raspberry PI zero 2 w which is on the market since around 2 years.
- It offers 512 MB Ram which is very little.
- But let`s see what we can do with it.
- At least it has a software which is reliable and that is the Raspberry Pi OS.
- And according to the timetable I expect the Raspberry Pi zero 3 w with more Ram will be available in 3 years from now.
- I conclude this from the fact that the zero 2 was released 5 years after zero has been released.
- And up do then I live with what the Raspberry PI zero 2 w and my Android phone can do.
- And if Pine64 continues their strategy to switch off essential components which are required for serious people to work with such as the Pinephone keyboard which is are not great but usable, Peter will leave Pine64 and switch off the light:
- Similar to has he has left for the time being products based on the ADS1299 EEG chip from Texas Instruments.
