This is the hypothesis of Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org. He is looking for an expert such as Milind Desai, MD, MBA from the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio:

Or Peter Charlton, Biomedical Engineer specialising in signal processing for wearables at the University of Cambridge:

Or Thomas Wyss, PhD. Prorector of the Swiss Federal Institute of Sport Magglingen:
https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Thomas-Wyss
to proof this in a paper. Milind Desai already tested the Apple 3 and the Polar H7 chest strap against the Quinton Q-tel RMS 3 channel ECG medical grade reference device for runs on a treadmill up to 15 km/h:

The results are shown in this table:
But we suppose that PiEEG with HeartPy is as accurate as the Quinton Q-tel RMS 3 channel ECG medical grade reference device ,and beats the Polar H10 and the Apple watch 9 as far as accuracy is concerned for runs on a treadmill up to 15 km/h. This is hypothesis of Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org needs to be confirmed in a scientific study.
3 channel (or 3 lead) ECG devices are gold standard for HR measurements if intense activities with strong body movements are not investigated, for instance for runs on a treadmill up to 15 km/h. PiEEG with HeartPy can be used as a 3 channel (or 3 lead) gold standard ECG device, and should therefore be more accurate than the Polar H10 and the Apple 9 for these activities.
