Why not to choose only open source hard- and software for ECG, EEG, MEG, SBC’s and things we need?

We could choose the PinePhone Pro, get our own Gerber files by ourselves and let manufacturer them by ourselves. There are other SBC’s available which are open source hardware. The same with OpenBCI modules and the WIFI shield. We are physiologists and not soft- and hardware developers. But hopefully all the issues we reported in our journal are resolved sooner or later, and there is an image available, either built by ourselves or by someone else, where all the sensors we reviewed in our journal are attached to, and we have found a device this image runs on and it is handy and fits our needs. And and then we can start doing physiology.
