Computer scientist A. J. Keller:

Has developed Neurocity Crown together with Alex Castillo. A. J. Keller developed the hardware & Alex Castillo the software:
We did not watch this video completely and study the Neurosity Crown in detail. But does not say a picture much more than words?
And is it worth to study this device more after wee see how it looks? Here are our thoughts about it.
AJ Keller, CEO of Neurosity wants to become the most trusted and loved neurotechnology company in the world, but how can he achieve this with the Neurosity Crown which is based on the ADS1299 EEG chip from Texas Instruments? This is a chip is 10 years old, and the hardware it is based on as well. And to develop this architecture further seems not to be worth it. We do not know of someone else who did it expect for computer scientist AJ Keller.
Our brain is a computer. Neuroscientst & neuroinformatics Christof Koch says this computer is so powerful, that we cannot build such a computer by ourselves which is as powerful today. Only in about 100 years from now it will be possible.
Recently Christof Koch has lost a 25 -year bet with Philosopher about consciousness. The bet was placed way back in 1998.
- Koch suggested the bet to his friend, staking a case of fine wine that within the next 25 years science would discover a signature of consciousness within the brain.
- Koch had been working with Francis Crick, part of the team behind the discovery of the structure of DNA.
- The two hoped that they may be able to find activity in particular neurons that related to conscious experience.
- Unfortunately for Koch, who is now down a few bottles of wine, studies that looked into this and were presented at the conference found that neither theory matched the data perfectly, according to Nature.
- “This tells us that both theories need to be revised,” neuroscientist at the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics in Frankfurt told Nature, while “the extent of that revision is slightly different for each theory”.
So why does computer scientist A. J. Keller want now what what Christof Koch failed to do who studied this for over 30 years? And that is to understand how our brain works and how to control it? And why does A. J. Keller want to interface with our brain. An organ from which we still do not know how it works?
Recently a neuroinformatic scientist somewhere has written, our brain is like a wild animal which we cannot control. This is the view of a neuroinformatitician who did not study Tibetan Buddhism, as Matthieu Ricard. PhD. did it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthieu_Ricard
Tibetan Buddhism teaches us how to control the wild animal within us by practising meditation. What we did not learn from neuroscientists and neuroinformatics, we can learn from from Tibetan Buddhism, and that is how to control our brains and to master our minds.
To understand and control our brain with Neurosity Crown as computer scientist A. J. Keller does it.Will it be successful? Tibetan Buddhism explains us how our brains work, and how we can control it. And it further says we can train our brains. Neuroscientist Richard Davidson confirmed this with his studies, that even a daily practice of 20 minutes of mind training can change our brains in an objectively measurable way. So why to study now how our brains and control it with Neurosity Crown, a device with 8 EEG channels as computer scientist A. J. Keller does it?
And why does A. J. Keller try something now with Neuroscientst Christof Koch who does this since over 30 years failed to this date. A. J. Keller has only started 8 years ago. Why does he now try to understand how our brains work and how to control it with Neurocity Crown? Will he be successful as Christof Koch’s competitor? Did A. J. Keller not study the scientific literature what others have done before him?
Buddhism has already has found out how our brains work, and how we can control it. What do we need more? We need knowledge about how our brains changes when we practice meditation. And we need devices which can measure this in an objectively measurable way. But can we do this with Neurosity Crown? It does not even deliver us physiological data. Parameters such as alpha waves, gamma waves, sleep duration and many more.
