Medical doctors and physiologists are looking for the most accurate devices which are validated in high quality scientific journals. But we do not have these papers for the Apple watch Ultra. Why do we not have these papers? Who wants to perform these studies? Optical sensors reach a limit as far as accuracy is concerned. Their signals have round peaks, but ECG devices have sharp peaks. To increase the accuracy, multiple ECG and PPG sensors are used. Apple has chosen to use multiple PPG sensors, medical doctors and physiologists multiple ECG sensors. For these multiple channel devices with ECG, the papers are there, but not for Apple watch Ultra. If the Apple watch Ultra would interesting for medical doctors and scientists, we would have these papers soon. But we do not have these papers, and we eventually will not have these very soon, since it is eventually not worth it to write those. If it would be worth to write does, would they not have been written already?
There are clinical studies with Apple watches. But Apple watches are not used on the large scale by medical doctors and physiologists to replace ECG devices in clinical studies.
