In recent years Neurospec in Stans in Switzerland showed different YouTube videos about Biosemi Active Two amplifiers:
These demonstrations remind strongly to those of Krisztián Hofstädter:
The difference is that Biosemi Active Two amplifiers cost 10 000 USD for 8 EEG channels. We hope that Neurospec finds costumers for this devices among the Swiss Universities.
But Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org is not interested in these, Since Peter Gamma thinks a 32 channel EEG device will sooner or later not be worth much more than 500 USD, if it is sold on Aliexpress and shipped directly to Switzerland:
And we can add the Biosemi Active 2 amplifers to our comparison table as well.
EEG device | architecture | EEG channels | costs (USD) | |
1 | Biosemi Active 2 | Device which was developed before the Texas Instruments ADS1299 chip has been released | 8 | 10 000 |
2 | OpenBCI Cyton + Daisy Biosensing Boards | Texas Instruments ADS1299 | 16 | 1800 |
3 | EEG device built by Hugo Plácido da Silva | TGAM & Influxdb | 16 | estimated 500 |
4 | EEG device built by Hugo Plácido da Silva | TGAM & Influxdb | 32 | estimated 1 000 |
And we highly appreciate Hugo Plácido da Silva for his contributions to lower the costs for physiological sensor devices:
