Polar partly fincanced a paper of the Swiss Federal Institute of Sports in Magglingen to compare the accuracy of a Polar H10 chest trap to a Holter ECG device which costs $1700 in following paper:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31004219/
On the other hand Polar devalues validation papers about their own heart rate monitors. A validation paper about the Polar OH1 was published in PLOS ONE which was done with a g.tec medical multi-purpose device which costs 50 000 USD:

But Polar prolonged the running time of the Polar OH1 successor Verity Sense by only a firmware update. Does this not make a new validation papers necessary for the Verity Sense, one before and one after the firmware update? You can find the details about this topic in our journal, and we have discussed it with DC Rainmaker on his blog as well:

We will not participate in the disccussion on DC Rainmakers blog anymore. We invite you to continue the discussion with us in our journal and to write your opinion about this topic in the comments below.
