https://forum.armbian.com/topic/30167-is-there-a-wireless-keyboard-which-works-with-the-orange-pi-5/
- We have several variants of the Orange Pi 5 now, and tons of variants of Rii i8 Mini Wireless keyboards on the market. We did already some research on this topic and found out that the:
Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard model i4 is a dual mode with Bluetooth as well as 2.4 Ghz support with it’s own dongle
whereas the
Rii i8 Mini Wireless keyboard is 2.4ghz only with t’s own dongle and does not support Bluetooth
- The Rii i8 is the newer one but it does not have Bluetooth support which is not necessary for the Orange Pi 5.
- These keyboards generally have good reviews on YouTube.
- The only negative point we found is that they are not recommended for fast typing.
- But these are the only mini keyboards we know which have 2.4 Ghz support with it’s own dongle, which seems to be the only solutions which works on the Orange pi 5.
- We don’t know of anybody who managed to get Bluetooth keyboard working on the Orange Pi 5, so it does not matter to have Bluetooth support for an Orange Pi 5 keyboard or not.
- For Bluetooth mini keyboards there are more options available but since nobody seemed to get Bluetooth keyboards to work on the Orange Pi 5 they cannot be choosen.
- So our focus would be exactly which keyboard has been confirmed working with which variant of the Orange Pi 5.
- We suggest to stick to the one which Crosstalk Solutions says that it works with the Orange Pi 5 and is part of the Crosstalk Solutions Orange Pi 5 starter kit:
https://kit.co/crosstalk/orange-pi-5
It only need the be confirmed by users. But from what we have learned now is that all kinds of 2.4 ghz keyboards which have their own dongle should work with all variants of the Orange Pi 5. But it would be desirable to have a list of confirmed keyboards which work with the Orange Pi 5 subtypes. Please post it to the armbian forum.
