Android phone & tablets – the most power efficient Pi screens?

  • We did some tests with Pi’s and power banks.
  • We observed that a 7 inch screen for a Pi 4 or a 5 inch screen for a Pi zero 2 required about the double amount of power banks than without screens to power those.
  • If we can do without a touch screen, to use an Android device as a Pi screen as shown in this video:

Is this not the best solution if we are looking for a power efficient Pi screens? Are smartphones and tablets not much more are much more power efficient than Pi screens, since Android devices are optimized for mobile use, but not Pi screens?
