- Some videos about the Orange Pi 5 have shown that it runs Libre Office on Armbian.
- An Armbian forum member said he managed to run Python software on it.
But after we posted some other features we miss about the Orange Pi 5 and Armbian in the Armbian forum, our forum account was locked which is illegal. We are convinced that we will win the legal fight against the Armbian forum. But for whom is a forum interesting where users have to start a legal fight about every post in the forum? Is this not a sign that the Armbian forum supporters have given up the Orange Pi 5 with Armbian, and only want to sell it to us? But who buys products from people who lock illegally forum accounts?
Is the Orange Pi 5 not powerful enough to run Ubuntu?
It is powerful enough.
Joshua Riek’s Orange Pi 5 Ubuntu GITHUB project is a good alternative to Armbian
What we miss about Joshua Riek’s project:
- A proof that a Bluetooth keyboard works with it, or at least an usb keyboard.
- A proof that LibreOffice runs on it.
- A proof that Thunderbird runs on it.
- A proof that Python runs on it.
- A forum where happy Orange Pi 5 Ubuntu users report about the progress and issues with the Orange Pi 5 and Ubuntu.
We are not looking for developers who resolves these issues and want to sell a product. But we are convinced that these issues will be resolved with the Orange Pi 5 or in the Orange Pi 6 buy users so that Orange SBCs will be a good Raspberry Pi alternative sooner or later.
