Drukpa:
The Kingdom of Bhutan, considered as one of the few remaining Buddhist kingdoms in this world and a pure land in the Himalayas, also takes the name of “Druk” or “Druk Yul”, meaning “the Land of the Thunder Dragons” and its people are also known as “Drukpa”.
Drukpa Lineage (Drugpa-Kagyü)
The Drukpa or Drukpa Kagyu lineage, sometimes called Dugpa in older sources, is a branch of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. The Kagyu school is one of the Sarma or “New Translation” schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

- The Drukpa Kagyu School has a history of more than 800 years.
- This lineage was founded by the great master :
Tsangpa Gyare
- in Tibet in the 12th century.
- He taught the practices of the six yogas of Naropa and Mahamudra meditation.
- In particular, the tradition of this teaching is still alive today and is practiced and passed on by many yogis and other people. That makes this line unique and valuable.
This is the first time that a center of the Drukpa Kagyü School has been opened in German-speaking Switzerland, where the teachings and unique practices of this lineage are passed on.
