What is the end of a product – when the product manager wants to ged rid of smart reviewers and is only looking for hobbyists – demonstrated in the example of Raspberry Pi and products which are based on the ADS1299 EEG chip from Texas Instruments

Raspberry Pi enthousiast Jeff Geerling asked desperately on his YouTube channel «Are Raspberry Pi’s selling out?»

And Peter Gamma from the MRIS was shocked that Raspberry Pi want to go to the stock markets as well. Are Pi’s not the product with the most tags in his journal:

The most tags after OpenBCI which has 129 tags. Peter Gamma from the MRIS is as desperate as Jeff Geerling. So what to do now? Buy Raspberry Pi 4 on eBay until he is forced to buy Orange Pi 5? Since the product managers of the Raspberry Pi’s have increased the price for those to 1 000 USD, a price which the Pi 4 is not worth used on eBay?

And now something similar happened to products based on the ADS1299 EEG chip from Texas Instruments. We reviewed such devices over several years on our tag «OpenBCI»:

We could easily replace the tag for OpenBCI and PiEEG and rename it, an join it under the tag «ADS1299» EEG chip:

Does this not make us to a little bit to experts about these devices?

Are products from www.OpenBCI.com not too expensive for people who do not need support from www.OpenBCI.com? We can find these products elsewhere cheaper. But then we have also HackEEG and PiEEG which are based on the ADS1299 EEG chip from Texas Instruments.

Hack EEG

We talked to Hack EEG developer Adam Feuer. During Corona HackEEG was not available. He wrote us it would be available at the end of Corona. But at the end of Corona Hack EEG was not available anymore on Adam Feures Crowd Supply site. Adam Feuer works now for Apple.

PiEEG

But then a YouTube video by Ildar Rakhmatulin appeared on our personal YouTube site, and the video was advertising for PiEEG. We reviewed PiEEG intensively in 56 posts in our journal. We recently especially wrote about the risk of this device. But soon after that also PiEEG was not available anymore on the Crowd Supply of Ildar Rakhmatulin. Has he stopped the development of PiEEG and is he now develop further devices to kill mosquitoes with a laser and Raspberry Pi?

Or is Ildar Rakhmatulin now looking for the hobbyists who are interested in PiEEG, and if he finds one, he brings it back PiEEG?

We are not hobbyists, but we are not professionals either, we are physiologists. We are on a private project, but we want in our Home Lab devices which fit to our qualification, and not devices which are only suitable for hobbyists.

We are therefore looking for instructions from How To Electronics, Adafruit and instructions which are published in papers which do not have a conflict of interest. Devices which are suitable for our home lab. And we are desperately looking for other people who are interested in the development of these products.

And we are not looking for product sellers who have marketing trusts and do stock market speculations with us to to maximize profit from us. Maximize profits from people like Ajahn Amaro who as no money since 1984:

Peter Gamma refuses to give any statements to the Police about this topic. The Swiss Police controlled him, becauce the talks to the Spanish Engineer with the brocken who sits in the kitchen of the house and smokes failed. He had to go to the Police and aks the Police for help regarding this topic. And now the Police wants to control Peter?

The Police needs a house search warrant to control Peter’s room, but she hasn’t. And Peter refuses that the Police controls his room at the MRIS. If the Police does not have a house search warrant, Peter will not allow the Police to enter his room.

He lives in a house where also other scientists live who work for the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich and for the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research WSL near Zurich. All of these scientists are Peter Gamma’s friends. And does all of this not make Ajahn Amaro, Peter Gamma and his friends who live in the building of the Meditation Reserach Institute Switzerland (MRIS) to interesting partners? All of these people, as well as all others who are interested in the further development of single board computers and low-cost high-quality EEG devices?
