There are medical doctors who use the Apple watch for clinical applications as for instance atrial fibrillation, we therefore think it is a failure to validate the accuracy of Apple watches only with a Polar H10 chest strap

  • A clinical application for the Apple watch is artrial fibrillation:
  • especially for accuracy validatiors as Rob ter Horst who is a postdoctoral researcher in research center for molecular medicine basic medical research
  • even though Rob does not want to change to ECG validation, we think that it is a failure to keep the topic secret and not to recognize the value of ECG accuracy validations studies, especially if Apple watches are also used for clinical applications
  • The Polar H10 chest strap might be the most accurate device for sporting activities with strong body movements, but for clinical and research applications and for sporting activities on a treadmill below 15 km/h, 3 lead ECG devices are gold standard for HR measurements which means the most accurate devices.
  • There is a reason these clinical and research grade devices are very expensive, and to ignore studies done with these devices is a failure
