The reality of Raspberry Pi for mobile applications

Is shown by leepspsvideo in the following video:

  • 3.5 screens are an option, but are quiet limited to use with applications.
  • And components for mobile devices are also be available, the Rasbperry Pi zero 2 w and specialized batteries.
  • But we think to use a smartphone as a Pi screen for mobile applications is better, since smartphones are optimized for low power consumtion.
  • One option is to use a HDMI to usb capture card.
  • This is a bit bulky but should work in principle
  • Then we can also choose for instance a a Google Pixel 6 Pro smartphone
  • This phone as a screen size of 6.7 inch
  • And at around 7 inch for instance LibreOffice is usable.
  • With such a big smarphone screen we have not touch control with the the HDMI to usb capture card. But since the screen size is bigger we do not have the issues with menus shown in the above video.
  • There are other options to connect a smarphone over ethernet.
  • You can find those on www.petergamma.org
  • But these are much more complicated.
