According to the Fedora documentation, this includes hardware accelerated graphics, for which OSS support was previously lacking:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/RaspberryPi4
The YouTube demo maker XeroLinux Official shows a demo of Fedora 37 on the Raspberry Pi4:
- we can see that apps open very very slowly
- XeroLinux Official says there is currently no hardware acceleration and that Fedora on the Raspberry Pi 4 is not usable in the current state.
- A reason why we are interestd in Fedora on the Raspberry Pi 4 it the support for the officical 7 inch Raspberry Pi displays:
https://github.com/anholt/linux/issues/8
- this issue has been closed, so we suppose that the display is supported.
But if we look at the video of XeroLinux Official we are asking the question, will Fedora on the Raspberry Pi be a device to work on as a daily driver before Raspberry releases a device which is much more powerful.
- we can find more information about Fedora and the Raspberry Pi here:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/raspberry-pi/
- XeroLinux Official wrote us in the comments below his YouTube video, that the currency in the country he lives has lost 98% of his value, and he cannot afford to buy a LattePanda to test different Linux options on the LattePanda. We feel sorry for XeroLinux Official and whish that the currency in his country recovers quickly.
