review of Andreas Spiess

  • the price at launch was 28 SFR which is about 28 USD four years ago
  • 4 years ago it was 50 USD incl. shipping

features:

  • double the size of the Raspberry Pi zwero w2
  • one usb connector shorter
  • 4 years ago it was difficult to find cases
  • no ethernet adapter
  • the Ram size is only 512 mb
  • it is an alternative to the bigger Raspberry Pi devices which draw more power and need a bigger battery
  • Raspberry Pi offers a solution for people who are looking for a device with long battery life which is available in Switzerland
  • it price has increased from 28 USD four years ago to 99 USD at Digitec Switzerland. Is this device woth that much?
  • There are alternatives to the Raspberry Pi 3A+:
  • the Raspberry Pi zero w2 which is not available in Switzerland
  • the Mango Pi MQ quatt – user report that it works with Debian, it is not available in Switzerland, but sold for around 30 USD on Aliexpress

If we are heavy users who are looking for a mobile device, we have to ask the question if it not a better solution to buy used Raspberry Pi 3’s on Ricardo Switzerland which can be bought there at a reasonable price.

  • We currently own 3 Raspberry Pi 3 devices, which we only have used to test those.
  • One broke to this date, and we are asking the question how durable are these devices?
  • Many questions about Raspberry Pi devices are open, especially regarding their prize politics.
