We are looking for an Arnaud Delorme who writes a Python LSL example with OpenBCI and InfluxDB or Home Assistant

  • According to the OpenBCI documentation, OpenBCI LSL is based on Python, if we got it correctly
  • Ikea light bulbs can be connected to Home Assistant, Ikea bulb sensor data can be stored in InfluxDB and visualized in Grafana. The door is open for sensor data processing of Ikea light bulbs
  • There is a demo available for the Apple watch to sync sensor data to Home Assistant and InfluxDB & visualize it in Grafana:

  • Ikea light bulbs, the Apple watch can stream sensor data to Home Assistant, InfluxDB and vizualize sensor data in Grafana. Why is this not possible with OpenBCI?
  • We are convinced, that the sensor path from OpenBCI over LSL to Influx/DB or Home Assistant is a path which is attractive for many skilled soft- and hardware developers
  • Since we are physiologist & reviewers and not soft- and hardware developers, don t expect any soft- and hardware development from us
  • But why not to develop a special version of Home Assistant for physiological sensors? This is an idea which we are promoting.
  • Arnaud Delorme developed a LabStreamingLayer example for the Muse 1 headband
  • It was based on the Muse SDK
  • unfortunately, shortly after the example of Arnaud Delorme was published, the Muse SDK was not available anymore from Interaxon. Is there a connection between these events?

We wrote an issue about this topic on the LabStreamingLayer GITHUB of the Swartz Center for Computational Neuroscience:

https://github.com/sccn/labstreaminglayer/issues/30

  • Users commented to choose other products than Interaxon products, as a consequence. We describe here a powerful and sophisticated alternative to the Muse headband on this site.
  • unfortunately, we do not have the passionate community which the Muse SDK had. Not yet, but here we presented a alternative for passionate developers.

Therefore we are looking for an Arnaud Delorme who writes a Python LSL example with OpenBCI and InfluxDB or Home Assistant.
