Rob ter Horsts last video before he kills himself?: the Apple Watch 10 in 2025 – a Scientific Review

Last Updated on January 5, 2025 by pg@petergamma.org

What did Rob ter Horst over the holidays? Screw around on the Apple watch 10 data so that they look nice and he can release a new video?

Rob ter Horsts video was published 19 hours ago, and has already reached more than 10 000 views on YouTube. So is this the last change of Rob to make money out of the Apple watch 10 together with Apple?

Since who believes in Rob ter Horsts data he publishes on YouTube? In scientific papers Rob ter Horsts data are not confirmed:

In the Review of Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org

Review of Accuracy Studies of Consumer Grade Heart Rate Monitors: Methods, Testing Protocols, Reference Devices

data of smartwatches are compared to other data in tables, which cannot be compared to each other, since they where obtained using different protocols and different testing methods. But if these data would be of interest for scientists, would not someone make such tests and publish such tables about smartwatch accuracy in scientific journals? The Cardiologists of the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio did this several years ago in two papers, but then stopped publishing papers about smartwatches.

Would they not have continued to publish new papers about this topic if there would be new watches which would be worth to test and to publish the data about a scientific papers?

Do you trust Rob ter Horsts data? What is your opinion about this topic? Write it in the comments below.

For does who do not trust Rob, read the article about Molecular Biologist Isidro Ballard who killed himself in the lab of the most famous Molecular Biologist of Switzerland Charles Weissmann 30 years ago:

https://www.nzz.ch/folio/warum-isidro-ballart-den-zug-verpasste-ld.1623333

The story of Isidor Ballard is like a crime thriller event today also for Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org. Peter had met Isidor Ballard on a science meeting personally one year before he killed himself. But Peter then decided to leave this group one year before Isidros death.

30 years later, it is difficult to understand why Isidor Ballard killed himself. But 30 years ago, there was a lot going on in the media about genetic engineering and molecular biology. First it was glorified, and then demonized. And many students such as Peter felt cheated by the media. And eventually also Isidro Ballard from South America who was hoping to make a fast career in Switzerland as a Molecular Biologist as well as Peter. So Isidro immigrated with a wife and a child to Switzerland from South America. But the reality was completely different for molecular biologists in Switzerland. Molecular Biologist was a job 30 years ago where you needed a high frustration tolerance, as post-docs mainly from Italy said to students in the lab of Charles Weissmann and Martin Billeter. And different Molecular Biologists Peter knew 30 years ago have left Switzerland, because they did not find a job in their home country. But who wants to leave Switzerland, which is such a nice country with such a high quality of life?

And is there not too much attention in the media about smartwatches today, as there was too much attention in the media about molecular biology and genetic engineering 30 years ago? Too much attention for topics there is not much about it, than stories from writers with too much fantasy? Smartwatches are glorified by YouTubers and in the media today. But when will they be demonized?

Maybe as soon as someone from the Blick newspaper in Switzerland reads the site of Peter Gamma from www.petegamma.org

The Blick in Switzerland was also one of the first newspapers to report about Isidro Ballards death. And the Blick wrote 30 years ago:

“World famous researcher killed himself in the lab”

And if the Blick in Switzerland will demonize smartwatches tomorrow after reading the site www.petergamma.org, we have to ask ourselves, if it is not better to wait until the NZZ in Zürich writes also about this topic, too. Since aren t headlines of the BLICK sometimes controversial?
