- Are these devices newly manufactured by Raspberry Pi?

- For Swiss it is difficult to understand a company like Raspberry Pi. Is this their marketing plan or a marketing study of a marketing scientist who want to find out which Raspberry Pi products can be sold in Switzerland, and start with the Raspberry Pi Pi 2 Model B, and then shoot up the price for it should a Swiss customer buy the device?
Raspberry Pi leaves us no other option than:
- to buy a new device of the old Raspberry Pi Pi 2 Model B at Digitec Switzerland
- an old Raspberry Pi 3 on Ricardo Switzerland
- an old Raspberry Pi 4 at Ricardo Switzerland for top prices
These devices are more expensive at Ricardo Switzerland than a new Orange Pi 5 on Aliexpress
- This gives us a motivation problem to bid on Ricardo Switzerland for these old and expensive Raspberry Pi devices, if we can easier and cheaper buy an Orange Pi 5 on Aliexpress.
The only advantages which remain for us personally to buy old Raspberry Pi’s on Ricardo Switzerland instead of a Orange Pi 5 on Aliexpress is:
- that we can send them back to the seller if he sends us a broken device
- this is eventually not worth it for the Orange Pi 5 which be bought in China
- A second advantage is that the Raspberry Pi’s are devices which are developed over a longer period of time as far as software and hardware is concerned.
But if we daily bid on Ricardo Switzerland to buy an old Raspberry Pi 3, we are longing to buy somewhere a powerful and new SBC in Switzerland at a seller which offers good conditions such as Digitec in Switzerland, who inform us about stock availability and offers fair prices.
We especially are happy that Conrad also sells products in Switzerland. Switzerland is not part of the European Union, and buying electronic components in foreign countries is often not worth it, because of the high shipping costs and import taxes, also in case of returns. Conrad offers many of these devices which do not have high sales rate in Switzerland, but eventually in Europe as a whole. And therefore we are very happy that Conrad also sells products in Switzerland. We hope that we will find a powerful SBC which fits our needs at Conrad sooner or later for a fair prize.
