Is it possible to control a Raspberry Pi through touch screen interface?

Last Updated on June 20, 2024 by pg@petergamma.org

There is the Raspberry Connect software. It is not very suitable for touch screen devices, but there is an on-screen keyboard available control your Pi. The following video shows:

  • A touchscreen keyboard
  • for a remote desktop software
  • which is called
  • “Raspberry Pi Connect”
  • & Raspberry Pi OS:

So at least one advantage has the Pinephone still over the Pi’s and that is that it is more suitable for touch applications than Raspberry Pi’s.

Raspberry Connect

  • RaspberryPi Connect is a new Service by RaspberryPi to securely remotely access your Raspberry Pi from anywhere using a web browser:

https://www.raspberryconnect.com/projects/68-net-and-comms/206-raspberrypi-connect-worldwide-access-to-your-rpi5-rpi4-or-rpi400

  • I hope it is possible to run it locally so that it does not require an internet connection so that it works.
  • Raspberry Connect is is not very suitable for touch screen devices.
  • It is mainy designed to use with a keyboard and a mouse.
  • But there are for instance many small keyboards with track pads available which are suitable to control Raspberry Pi’s and smartphones.
  • Many of those have about the size of the Pinephone keyboard or are even smaller.
  • There is also the:.

Blue Touch app

  • this app let’s a smartphone have the function of a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard.

The on-screen keyboard for Bookworm – the new version of Raspberry Pi OS

  • How to install an on-screen keyboard to Bookworm – the new version of Raspberry Pi OS can be found in the Raspberry Pi forum.
  • The touch screen interface has symbols, a,b,c and numbers.
  • The cursor is available.
  • The on screen keyboard comes up and down controlled by touch.
  • It still has an issue and that is it misses the first letter.
  • But it is an issue which is not very severe.
  • It should be big enough to work on a smartphone..
  • With this solution a Raspberry Pi can be controlled from wherever you are in the world from a mobile phone with a touch screen and keyboard.

This means with this software a smartphone or a tablet can be used as your Raspberry Pi touch screen.

  • It is the work of “Terrible Ted” from the Raspberry Pi forum.
  • Knowing this the BIGTREETECH Raspberry Pad 5 & 7 are not the best solutions if you want touch control for your Raspberry Pi.
  • In this case, it is better to buy a seperate CM4 motherboard which can be controlled by a smarphone or a tablet.

Information for product sellers who do stock market speculation and scalping with products mentioned by Peter Gamma on www.petergamma.org

According to the little experience of Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org, many of the products listed here are still full of issues which need to be resolved. If you do stock market speculation and scalping with those, you will loose Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org as a buyer of these products and as a reviewer. Is this not risky? Will you not loose a majority of your costumers as well?

And is it not so, that society in general does not accept stock market speculation and scalping with products as those which are listed here? And will you not be politically incapable of finding a majority of the voters if you do stock market speculation and scalping with these products?

And as a consequence will you not be condemned and punished by a political referendum soon? Especially if you do this to a Swiss, since are not majority of Swiss against stock market speculations and scalping with people on a budget? And people in Switzerland are known for a lot of political referendums, since we have direct democracy in this country.

And Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org will fight up to the European Court of Human Rights against people who do stock market speculation and scalping with the products which are mentioned on www.petergamma.org. And if they do not have yet the legal basis there to do so, he will fight for it.

What is a scalper?

A scalper is someone who buys something and resells it at a price far above the initial cost. For instance some says: “He got theater tickets through a scalper”: Someone who buys tickets to an event in order to resell them at a profit. And is it not also scalping if you take reviews from this site to make out of it a new product offer, and sell it for a higher price? We doubt that you will be successful with it. Since Peter Gamma will review your product and will user not come back to www.petergamma.org after that?
