Usually, if new products arrive which are more affordable, sellers buy these products there where they are the cheapest. But not with EEG devices.

We have the OpenBCI Cyton for about 1000 USD from OpenBCI USA

Then, HackEEG appeared with about the same costs as from OpenBCI USA

Then the Unicorn black which has a copyright from g.tec medical appeared for about the same prize as the OpenBCI cython from OpenBCI

There are more affordable EEG devices on the market than those sold by these companies. You can find those in our journal. There are sellers who buy their products there where they are the cheapest and resell them to costumers. But not OpenBCI, HackEEG and Unicorn Black from g.tec medical. They link the costs for their devices to each other and keep it high. EEG devices which are more affordable can be found in our journal.
