Orange Pi 5: Desktop Replacement & Retrogaming Machine?

Last Updated on May 13, 2023 by pg@petergamma.org

  • We have here a list of YouTube videos about the Orange Pi 5:
  • Is this basically all that can be done with the device?
  • If so, will it have a community?
  • It reminds us of the list of videos of Micro Linux about the Radxa zero:
  • The Radxa zero was described as a powerful Rasperry Pi zero 2 w killer.
  • But we do not know of any users who confirm this. On the contrary, we doubt about this.
  • If the Radxa Zero is a Rasperrry Pi zero w2 killer, why then is the Raspberry Pi zero 2 w still so expensive and alive and kicking?

Is it history repeating with what happened with the Radxa zero now the with the Orange Pi 5? First raise high expectations through YouTube video makers, which results in a YouTube listing or YouTube videos of what can be done with the device? A lot can be done with these devices, but is it what users are looking for who are looking for a Raspberry Pi alternative? We had a lot of work reviewing SBCs, but what comes out of it is for us personally a list if issues of these devices of what is not developed to make those Raspberry Pi competitors. But will the issues we mentioned be resolved?
