OpenBCI: an old braid which will be an outdated concept soon?

Last Updated on February 22, 2024 by pg@petergamma.org

Several years ago we had a discussion with William Croft in the www.openbci.com forum about Osho:

Croft said to Peter Gamma Osho is gone since a long time. But what about OpenBCI? If we look at instructions like the following:

Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org asks the question, is OpenBCI not already an outdated concept today?

Yes for Peter Gamma, since OpenBCI costed im several years of review work which can be found here:

which made him retreat from www.openbci.com and OpenBCI made in China:

Products sold from www.openbci.com are expensive and are based on the 10 years old ADS1299 chip from Texas Instruments, a chip Peter never was happy about it that it existed, and he never used an EEG product with the ADS1299. OpenBCI made in China is more affordable than products from www.openbci.com, but is it more than a cheap inferior OpenBCI product which make a single update to increase it’s quality? But after the update only one updated OpenBCI module is sold on eBay, and then the update is gone, and we are where we started?
