OpenBCI 16 channels versus Schiller CS 200 with 16 ECG channels

Last Updated on January 15, 2025 by pg@petergamma.org

Why is OpenBCI with 16 channel 2 000 USD?

Whereas the Schiller CS 200 with 16 ECG channel is 25 000 USD?

Peter Gamma from www.petergammma.org from Switzerland is asking:

Because the CS 200 is Swiss Quality?

But has the CS 200 price not also the OpenBCI Galea “league”? A price which is more a fantasy of the product sellers, than the price it is sold on the streets?. We could build a more affordable CS 200 treadmills today, with more affordable components:

But who builds an affordable alternative to the Schiller CS 200 based on OpenBCI? Not Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org. Since he thinks it is worth to choose a new architecture for this project as this one:

  • costs are lower
  • the architecture is more flexible
  • it is not limited in any way
  • for instance we need to add treadmill sensors
  • and it should be possible to build also an EEG device from it with as many channels as required.
