NextCloudPi seems not to be very user friendly but it is still the easiest solution for us personally to solve a problem Google caused us

One of the most time consuming project we had in our journal was to find a replacement of our Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android 4.4, to replace it with a more contemporary device which offers similar options for file exchange to a PC which is not over a cloud.

Previously we had the option for a file exchange to a PC easily by writing to the external SD or by accessing the files directly on the phone over an usb connection. But since Google killed these options in Android we suffer.

We most probably use a Pi with NextCloudPi on it to solve this problem. We invested a lot of time to get this solution running but we still cannot use it. NextCloud installation is not very user friendly. For instance today we re-installed NextCloudPi on our last Raspberry Pi 3 which works according to the following instruction:

Then we entered by mistake the wrong password, the first but not the second password which was indicated. Then we managed to access NextCloudPi with the second password in a second trial. But then the first time installation wizard does not appear, and we did not find a way to get it back. Installation worked previously according to the instruction which is given in the video. But if something goes wrong as we described here, we do not know another way as to restart the installation from scratch to get access to the first time installation setup. NextCloudPi seems not to be very user friendly but still the easiest way to solve a problem Google made us with their procedure.

Correction: The first password is required to login but not the second, but for some reasons we had problems with the first password, and only the second worked. But then the fist time setup wizard did not appear. This is the second time that we had problems during the installation and we where not able to reload the first time installation wizard and we have to re-install everything.
