NextCloudPi installation series: progress report, day 22 (21:30), issue Nr. 102 which concerns Google Inc.

  • We once where very happy with our Galaxy S5 with Android 4.4. which allowed to write to the external SD card, where we where able to process further our Office files we created on our phone.
  • We where also able to connect the phone over usb to the PC and process our Office files on our PC in this way.
  • Then Google killed both options, for security reasons they said. We can hardly believe this.
  • Looking for a contemporary replacement we became interested in the Pinephone on YouTube.
  • Google bought YouTube in in November 2006 for US$1.65 billion.
  • YouTube, again a Google product as Android.
  • Then we had three weeks of LibreOffice installation on the Pinephone working every day a little bit on it.

  • But this was not the solution for us personally to solve this problem.
  • Then we found NextCloudPi on Youtube owned by Google.
  • We are now in the third week of our NextCloudPi installation series, initiated by a nice looking guy on Google’s Youtube.
  • He showed us a nice and straigtforward instruction how everything works very smoothy after 20 min. of NextCloudPi installation.
  • We do not have exactly the same setup as the guy on YouTube, but we are now on day 22 of our installation with issue nr. 101 about NextCloudPi.
  • We estimated we could install NextCloudPi on a Pi and connect everything to our Android phone and everything works straight away and out of the box. But the reality looks compelely different.
  • In the good old times of the Galaxy S5 we found instructions in the web how to flash a costum rom, and many great user reports how to do this.
  • But now everything is controlled by Google, and we are going crazy after all those videos on Google’s YouTube which brought us to hell.
  • But we feel now much better after publishing our user report as Swiss physiologist about our experience with Google products in the manner of a YouTube video maker.
  • We do not yet make YouTube video’s, since we are scared that this would take another 3 weeks going through hell without being able to publish a single video on Google’s Youtube.
  • But we are happy that we are not alone with our problems, also «programmers are also humans» had similar problem with Emacs:
  • As we had with Google, the Pinephone and NextCloudPi, products which where presented on Google’s YouTube.
