Gampopa Sönam Rinchen was the main student of Milarepa. He was a Tibetan Buddhist master who codified his own master’s ascetic teachings. This formed the foundation of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism . The Kagyu lineage is one of the four main schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
