Sadhguru describes this in the following video:
Who knows this? Can Arnaud Delorme or some other meditation researchers answer such questions? Delorme describes a similar question in this video:
Had Milarepa a diabolical brain who gave him ocult power, or was he halucinating? Milarepa later on became a spiritual leader and was founder of the Kagyu schools of Tibetan Buddhism. Osho claimed that the basis of all religous experiences are hallucinations. But has Osho any proof for this? Osho also said that he was a spiritual playboy. Can we take a spiritual playboy serious?
Milarepa is considered one of the greatest yogis and ascetics in Tibet. He is also considered Tibet’s greatest poet, but he was famously known as a murderer when he was a young man, before before turning to Buddhism and becoming a highly accomplished Buddhist disciple:

Tibetan Buddhism has four major schools, namely Nyingma (8th century), Kagyu (11th century), Sakya (1073), and Gelug (1409). Milarepa was founder of the Kagyu schools of Tibetan Buddhism (11th century).
