  • Loten Dahortsang was born in Lhasa, Tibet in 1968.
  • In 1979 he went to Nepal and entered Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s Kopan Monastery.
  • He has lived in the monastic institute in Rikon Switzerland since 1982.
  • He was trained by his uncle,

  • Tulku Lama Lodro Rinpoche
  • the monastery’s former abbots
  • Gesche Ugyen Tseten and
  • Gesche Gedün Sangpo
  • Since 2002 he has been undergoing further training in Buddhist epistemology at the Sera Monastery University in South India
  • and since 2006 in several years of in-depth meditation and studies on the Kalachakra Tantra in the Jonang Monastery in North India.
  • He leads meditation sessions at Rikon Monastery and at Buddhist centers in Europe.
