Issues with the LattePanda 3 Delta rugged cyberdeck

  • The package looks very similar to the package of the LattePanda 3 Delta. Are LattePanda and Odyssey entangled with each other? Are they controlled trough a marketing trust to control their prices? We would like to inform you that marketing trusts are forbitten in Switzerland and we do not accept marketing trusts:
  • The case is to big for our own special application.
  • Would not Linux fit better to a SBC computer of this price range, for instance why does Fedora not officially support this board? Would this not be better than the Raspberry Pi 4, which lacks a proof that we can use Fedora to work with it as a daily driver.
  • The price for this board is much to high on Aliexpress. It is much higher than on Distrelec Switzerland, which is an expensive shop which sell special components which are especially suitable for electronics engineers.
  • Why is the price for this board not lower on Aliexpress? It is sold by seedstudio which is located in China? Why does a company located in China not offer this board on Aliexpress at a lower price?
  • The size of the board is too big for our application. Can the company not offer a smaller form factor?
  • Heatsink and fan are very large, and are too heavy for our application, can they not be reduced in size and weight, since we are looking for a board for mobile applications.
  • does it not offer a touch screen connector?
  • We have observed, that components as those shown here are fist announced for a certain prize, but then the price for it is increased, as for instance the Raspberry Pi zero W2, which was increased from 15 USD to 105 USD. Will the price for this board also increased?
  • The trend of the world is that soft- and hardware in this market segment trops, and the quality becomes better, but is it not vice versa with many demos which are shown on YouTube?
  • In many of these YouTube videos speed tests are shown for instance for hard drives. Why are there no comparison tables which allow to compare the specifications of the devices for instance on a website. Every now and then, we can see a table, in a video. But would a table on a website be more user friendly than somewhere in a video, where it is difficult to find it, if we do not remember where it was?
  • The video shows power draw data. We are looking for a device for mobile applications. Are there no data available which show how long this device runs if powered with batteries?
  • The 7 inch display which is used in the demo is also sold for Raspberry Pi. Some of them offer mounting bracks at the back of it to make a handy device. But this is a real suitcase. Would it not be better to mount the LattePanda behind the screen as it is done with Raspberry Pi displays?
  • Some time ago, we ordered a surveillance camera in the US to ship to Switzerland. We live in a house which was searched by the Police since youngsters provoked the Police to come. Since then we do not know if our house is on the list of houses which are suspected to be inhabited by terrorists. Whatever, the camera we ordered in the US was not delivered to Switzerland, the trackung number showed that it was pulled from it’s track on a airport in the US. We never received it. We suppose anti-terrorists units at the airport investigated it, since the camera had the size of a bomb. We received a refund for the camera, but never received it. Does this case not also look similar to a bomb, and is there not also a risk that the police pulls it from the track at the airport?
