A paper about Neurokit2 was published in Behavior Research Methods on 02 February 2021:

The paper has been cited 289. But is Neurokit2 as often used as Matlab, Python Toolboxes and Home Assistant? If no, here are some issues, which could make the software more popular:
Issues:
- no fusion of Neurokit2 and Home Assistant for physiologists available to make it easy to use
- Home Assistant has already support for some sports sensors, as for instance the Apple watch:
- Udo Berndts example with the Apple watch could be used as an example for other sensors to make their sensors more popular for research applications
- as far as we know, Neurokit2 sensors are are expensive and not attached to SQlite & InfluxDB
- sensors which are more affordable and more low cost high quality can be foune in the journal of the MRIS.
