This is required if we want to store our Abiword files on an external SD card of a Pinephone and process these files further on a desktop PC.
- We started to try to solve this problem here:
- We installed PostmarketOS posh edge on our Pinephone to resolve this issue we have with our Pinephone:
- After the installation of PostmarketOS posh edge our Pinephone booted normally, but after the first reboot our Pinephone stuck during the booting process.
• It is also possible to install an OS on the external SD card of the Pinephone. Use the description given by TechHut to flash an OS with Balena Etcher onto an SD card and plug it into the Pinephone. - If you start the Pinephone it boots from the SD card.
- We did that and flashed the PostmarketOS stable installer version onto an SD card.
- During the installation process it asks to install the OS onto the internal memory of the Pinephone or onto the external SD card.
- We have chosen to install it to the the external SD card of the Pinephone.
- But when we booted up our Pinephone it stuck again during the booting process.
- We then installed the PostmarkedOS stable image version onto the external SD card.
- This time the installation was successful, and also after the second reboot the Pinephone started without any issues.
- You can try now to install Abiword on your Pinephone and save files. We suppose the files will be saved onto the exernal SD card of the Pinephone.-
- If PostmarketOS runs from the exernal sd card, we can pull out this SD card and plug it into our PC with an SD card reader.
- On the desktop PC we can test if we can open the Abiword files we created on our Pinephone.
