- How meditation changes our brain, with Mingyur Rinpoche (English subtitles)
- Mingour Rhinpoche mixes scientific findings with terms which come from Buddism about how the brain works.
- Will we learn more about this based on scientific findings, for instance of brain scan studies of full-time meditation practitioners?
- So that old terms from Buddhism can be replaced by scientific findings?
- Richard Davidson talks about the benefits of meditation and its effects on the brain on Landguet Ried:
- But are many of Richard Davidson’s talks not rather theoretical?
- And from where are his statements?
- Exusively from scientific papers?
- And are the statments of Mingour Rhinpoche mixed statements from scientific findings and from Buddhism?
- But will some of these scientific papers not be outdated, soon?
- For instance Richard Davidson has a vision:
“I envision a day when mental exercise will be as much a part of our daily lives as physical exercise and personal hygiene.»
- Is this statement a statement from a scientific paper?
- But are not some spiritual teachers much ahead to meditation researchers?
- For instance in this example: Richard Davidson said:
“I envision a day when mental exercise will be as much a part of our daily lives as physical exercise and personal hygiene.»
- But Richard Davidson’s vision was already a reality for Yogi Bhajan 30 years ago:
«Yogi Bhajan said, the daily practice of Sadhana gives you mental clarity»
- This is a statement of self- experienced Yogi’s.
- But do we already have a scientific proof for this?
- And if so, where?
- And who will apply it?
- And will we have in Laghsam Tibetan Meditation in Zurich a «spiritually oriented» center for Tibetan Buddhism?
- And will Landguet Ried be a purely secular meditation center which is is purely secular?
- Similar to that the Center of Healthy Minds in Madison will be a center for secular meditation?
- But is there also a «spiritually oriented» center in Madison?
- Does not Richard Davidson sometimes give talks from a place which looks like Laghsam Tibetan Meditation in Zurich?
- And does not Vanja Palmers say on the Mind Foundation site, that he lifes on the mountain Rigi?
- But at other places it looks as if he would speak from his Villa in Lucerne?
- And is there some computer program behind it who contols all of this?
- For instance, from where does Richard Davidson speak?
- From a «spiritually oriented» center?
- Or from Landguet Ried?
- And is this all controlled by a «global computer network»?
- And what are the criteria from where Richard Davidson speaks?
- And the more scentific data we have, the more secular meditation practices which are based on scientific findings will be available?
- And is there a screening study going on, which centers will survive, and which die?
- And where Antoine Lutz will find a place to stay?
- Or will he never find a definite place to stay, to do research and to teach?
